Feb 21, 2009 - Here I show two FN 1910-guns. Re: FN model 1910. I think they ran the same serial numbers on the M1910s before and after WWII and one way to tell is the slide serrations. I recommend you to contact Browning.com.

Story on this: my Grandfather passed away a few years ago and this was stuffed away in a drawer. He fought in Europe during WWII and I believe this might have been a bring back of his. I just finished stripping it and applying some oil. I tired my best not to damage the patina. There was a lot of rust and grime inside it (not to mention some critters inside the grip). The barrel still has a mirror finish to it.

I'm going to have my gunsmith friend have a look at it and then if it checks out, see how well it shoots. Anyone know the value of something like this? Not going to be selling it, just curious. That poor beast. She's all rusty. That much needs to be cleaned. I wouldn't say it's in firing condition, given the level of rusting.

On the other hand, it's a fine piece of history. Clean her up and frame her or something. - that's how things should look internally. I doubt your springs have survived, though. Value on these pistols varies wildly by individual story.

My 1922, pictured above and is fairly valuable, having both history and documentation of it's story. It's waffenampt'd, and I have the capture papers. OTOH, they kept producing both the 1910 and 1922s till the mid 1970s. The guns were used by multiple militaries and police forces, and sold to the general public in quite some quantity.

1910

Most famously, the model 1910 pistol was used to assassinate Archduke Ferdinand and trigger WWI. While your appears to have some history, you'll have to track down the serial number and figure out where it really came from. The stamping on the slide and barrel are consistent with early production. The layout of the stamping on the slide suggests the gun was made after 1930.
