Dear users, I would like to deeply apologize for the inconvenience with the current FMEL 2016 situation. For this year, we wanted to change things radically by supporting multiple platforms (at least Windows and Linux) which meant a new UI with cross-platform compatibility and a change to the core framework of FMEL.

Unfortunately, this has been proven far more trivial than originally planned and that, in addition to heavy personal work load, concluded in such a late pending release. I, therefore, take full responsibility for being late and inaccurate with previous ETAs of FMEL 2016. We are still working hard in order to deliver an initial version, hopefully next week. I know there's been so many ETAs that I failed you and Stam, but I will do my best to deliver something ASAP, which should be a solid base for later versions. Thank you for your patience, Stelios. If you need an editor asap, I also recommend IGE or FMRTE if you don't mind paying for that.

In fact, I'm considering to set up a download page for FMRTE soon to redirect people there because I'm actually more disappointed than you are by the progress of FMEL this season. FYI, we were planning to release FMEL 2016 last month but we had technical issues with the framework the lead developer ( svita) had chosen, so had to start from scratch again. I don't know when it will be available and I don't want to make any promises, but he's working on it. I'm not involved in the process because it has been delayed for too long and my priorities have changed. @ Lawnmowerman: I've been on my annual break starting mid-December.

It's the time of the year I get sick of FM and take time off. I'm still replying to all private messages and chats though. If there's nothing good to announce, I don't see a point raising false hope. But I realize people need someone to blame, even though the actual makers of this tool haven't showed up here to post any replies for months. It's fine really, I don't mind taking the blame myself.

Previously I've just used the 'normal' editor but this time I've decided to buy an in-game editor. I have never bought one of them ever before so I'm just simply wondering what's the difference between FMRTE and the official in-game editor and which one I should buy? From what I've read so far FMRTE seems to be much more advanced but since it's not an official product made by SI I'm a little bit afriad that I could suffer more technical difficulties like errors & bugs that may even corrupt my save file. So is that the case or is both equally 'stable'?

Kotok am sigish. Also I'm a mac user so I need to wait until the FMRTE comes out for mac (which I btw have no problem with if the FMRTE is much better). So is there anybody with any experience of the mac version of both editors that can advise me which one to buy? In game editor from SI, always. It's not third party tool and it's fully compatible with FM and that means you'll have less chance of corrupting something. They are both good, SI added some new stuff in theirs editor and it's really close to FMRTE now. Don't know if it's as advanced still, but it has everything you need.Okay thanks for your input.
